Final for my Time Arts class. Nothing gets you in touch with your own anger quite like listening to this and thinking about all the times you’ve been objectified and belittled.

reblogging here because i can see this being relevant to anyone who’s ever tried to get out of an abusive relationship

Reblogging because that last comment made me reread the whole thing in a new light and realize this could be vital information. So, putting it out there for everyone, and hoping no one ever really needs it.

no-one-seesyou-likeido:

So I just opened the link with the picture of the script for 3x05, called “The Secret Origin Of Felicity Smoak,” super excited that we’re finally going to give our girl the backstory she deserves!

I went to the comment section waiting to share my excitement with the other fans only to see half…

I’m OK with them calking it fan service, cause yes, I am a fan. Obviously you aren’t of you use this phrase with venom and you should stop watching. Because obviously its a good thing for the show, and there are more of us (olicity is good) than there are of the venom toothed talkers.
Let em fuss. Talk olicity with us.

Excuse me? I should stop watching Arrow because I’m getting mad at hateful comments? I did not take the word and used it with venom, this is the only way it has ever been used. If that’s the case then maybe all the fans who love the show for what it is should stop watching to make room for those who track down any post dadicated to them to spread negativity and hate. When someone writes a comment saying “Ugh, fanservice. I will skip watching this episode,” is not good for the showFanservice is not a good term, it has never been. It implies that a TV-show has no other depth or value other than becoming slaves to the audience. Anyway, this wasn’t even the case or the purpose of this post. We all know that Arrow has some insane plot going which is what makes it a great show. What I’m trying to say is, I didn’t even get pissed off because the word is being tossed around. In every show there’s that. When something that the majority of the audience enjoys watching finally gets explored, there are those who don’t agree with it so they call it fanservice. All of us must’ve gotten used to it by now.

The fact that they called exploring a single character fanservice was what startled me and frustrated me because I’ve never heard a most ridiculous argument than that so I wrote my thoughts down. That’s all this is. My thoughts and my opinion.

The point is, it never would have been called fan service if it was about any other character. If it was called “the secret life of Laurel lance” we wouldn’t have heard shit like that. but no, Exploring a popular character who has had almost no back story episodes is ‘fan service’?! It was venomous, don’t even try and deny it ^^

I am alone.

The world which shook at my feet and the trees, and the sky have gone. And I am alone now.

Alone.

The wind bites now, and the world is grey, and I am alone. Can’t see me. Doesn’t see me.

Can’t.

See me.

fun fact the opening song tells the entire plot of the movie, but everyone is always too distracted by the amazing animation to notice the lyrics. job well done, Disney.
